How this helps you
A late or delayed run skips itself instead of posting or pinging at a bad hour.
Right before you post or send anything, check the current time. If it's after 00:30 or before 7:00, skip this run and do nothing.
What they did
@sisiliu517's routine re-checks the clock right before it posts. One run woke at 00:28 and skipped itself, because it would have landed past the 00:30 cutoff.
Who it's for: Anyone whose routines post, send or notify other people.
How to try it
- Check your time zone in Settings, Bot, Timezone. Schedules use it.
- Write the quiet-hours rule into the routine's instructions.
- Ask it to re-check the time right before the final action, not only at the start, because a long run can drift past your cutoff.
- Say which days count, too. 'Daily' includes weekends.
What to expect
A routine that skips itself late at night or at weekends and says so in its result.
Common mistakes
- Checking the time only at the start of a long run.
- Forgetting weekends. @ALL_Jonah's point: 'check daily' means Saturday at 7am too.
Related tips
- Make routines cheaper: events, slow schedules, change checks: A 5-minute routine wakes 8,640 times a month. Use an event trigger, the slowest schedule that works, and a cheap change check.
- Keep routines one line long: The schedule says when. The skill says how.
- Pick a main Bot so it can see and delegate across your team: A main Bot gets wider visibility into your other Bots, messages you first, and hands work out.
- Give your support Bot your SOPs, then schedule it for business hours: Attach your support docs so drafts follow your rules, then one sentence sets an hourly check during work hours with every reply waiting for you.
- An event RSVP Bot that answers 'is X coming?' in Slack: A Bot reads your event registrations, posts who's attending by account each day, tags the owners, and answers questions in the channel for you.
- A price watch Bot that only pings you for a real, verified drop: Give a Bot one exact product and two shops. It checks every morning, treats anything it can't read as unknown, and stays quiet unless it confirms a lower price.
- Have a Bot watch for cancellations at a fully booked spot: Ask a Bot to check a booking page every hour and ping you the moment a slot opens, so you can grab a cancellation before anyone else.
