How this helps you
You see which Bots and routines use the most, so you know what to trim first.
Here's my usage CSV. Check this usage file, analyse my Bots' behaviour and tell me how we should optimise for usage. Rank fixes by usage saved. Don't change anything until I approve.
What they did
@tejas3732 exports his usage as a CSV from the Usage page, uploads it to his Chief of Staff Bot and asks it to analyse his Bots' behaviour and suggest how to cut usage.
Who it's for: Anyone whose weekly usage runs out early.
How to try it
- Open the Grok dashboard, go to Usage and export the CSV.
- Upload the file to your main or chief of staff Bot.
- Ask for the biggest usage drivers by Bot and routine, and fixes ranked by usage saved.
- Approve the changes one at a time, then compare next week's export.
What to expect
A short list of which Bots and routines use the most, with suggested changes such as slower schedules or narrower triggers.
Common mistakes
- Letting the Bot change routines straight away. Approve each change so you know what moved the number.
- Not comparing before and after. Export again a week later.
Related tips
- Make routines cheaper: events, slow schedules, change checks: A 5-minute routine wakes 8,640 times a month. Use an event trigger, the slowest schedule that works, and a cheap change check.
- Check usage and update your Bot's computer in Settings: Where to see how much of your weekly usage is left, and when to update or reset the Bot's cloud computer.
- A /clean-start skill for long chats: Save the goal, decisions, files and next action to a handoff file, then pick up in a fresh chat.
- Build a recurring charges page from your email receipts: One prompt turns receipt emails into a subscriptions page with totals, duplicates and a privacy toggle.
- Turn a messy CSV into a report that says what to fix first: Hand your Bot a messy export and ask for a cleaned, scored report with a do now / do later list.
- Build a monthly usage audit page that labels every routine: Hand your Bot screenshots of your usage and billing pages, get a page that marks each routine Keep, Slow down, Change check or Retire.
Worth knowingThe author says this saves 10 to 15% a week. That is his own result, not a guarantee. A related prompt from @grokbotusecases: "Review all my routines. Rank fixes by usage saved. Don't change anything until I approve."Next in Routines →Keep routines one line long
