How this helps you
You stop setting the same alarms by hand every morning.
Every weekday at [time], check my calendar for today. For each meeting, set an alarm on my phone [minutes] minutes before it starts, labelled with the meeting name. Skip all-day events. Tell me which alarms you set.
Fill in: [time] is when the routine runs, before your first meeting. [minutes] is the warning you want; use 0 for an alarm at the start time, as Moritz does.
What they did
Moritz added a step to his daily planner routine: when he has meetings that day, his Bot sets an alarm at each meeting time using his phone's alarm app. It checks his calendar every day and sets the alarms, a job he used to do by hand. To set it up he opened Connect apps in the mobile app, chose the iPhone tab and allowed Alarms. Marlon Roldan's walkthrough of the same tab lists Calendar, Home, Reminders, Contacts, Location and Alarms, and notes that Messages isn't one of them despite early posts. In Marlon's live test the alarm didn't appear at first; he later commented that the alarm worked but didn't show in the app, and another viewer said theirs was set but not switched on, so check the first few.
Who it's for: Anyone who misses meetings when deep in work, especially without a smartwatch.
Before you start
- The Grok Bot mobile app, updated.
- Calendar connected (Google Calendar or your phone's calendar).
- A commenter on Marlon's video says Android has the same option; we've only seen the iPhone tab.
How to try it
- In the mobile app, open Connect apps and switch to the iPhone tab.
- Allow Alarms, and Calendar if your meetings live there. Choose how much access to give.
- Send the prompt below to your main Bot.
- The next morning, open your Clock app and check the alarms exist and are switched on.
- If one is missing, tell the Bot what you see so it can retry.
What to expect
A morning message like: set alarms for 10:00 team sync and 14:30 client call. Two labelled alarms in your Clock app.
Common mistakes
- Not checking the first runs. Viewers saw alarms that didn't show or weren't switched on.
- Giving Location or Contacts access you don't need for this job.
- Running it at a time after your first meeting.
Related tips
- Grok Bot can use your phone's apps: Calendar, Reminders, Contacts and more, on iOS and Android.
- Get a prep doc a few minutes before each meeting: A morning routine reads your calendar, pulls context from email and connected apps, and sends a prep doc just before each meeting starts.
- Set Grok Bot as your iPhone Action Button: Press it and you're talking to your Bot. No app to open, nothing to type.
