How this helps you
Your Bot can reach your real email and tools in a couple of minutes, without hunting through settings.
Connect my email accounts. Start with Gmail, then ask me which other apps I use every week and connect those one at a time.
What they did
Charlie Chang's first recommendation after setup is to connect your accounts. He shows two routes. The simple one: tell any Bot "connect my email accounts, let's start with Gmail". It offers a sign-in card; he adds a second Gmail labelled work to show you can hold more than one. The other route is an MCP hub such as Composio or Zapier: connect that one account to Grok Bot, then add all your other tools inside the hub. He calls this the best option if you have lots of logins. Later in the video he also shows the plugins page, where Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Slack, Notion and a password manager can be added directly.
Who it's for: Anyone setting up Grok Bot, especially people with many work tools.
How to try it
- In any Bot's chat, say which app to connect, for example: connect my Gmail.
- Click the card it returns and sign in. Give extra accounts a label such as work.
- For many tools, connect a single Composio or Zapier account once, then add your apps there.
- To browse what is available, open the plugins page and click View all.
What to expect
A sign-in card appears in chat. After you log in, every Bot on your account can use that connection.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting that all your Bots share one computer, browser and set of logins. Charlie points out that if one Bot is signed in, every Bot can reach it. You can tell a Bot not to use an account, but that is an instruction, not a lock.
- Using the browser for a task a connector can do. Connectors are usually cheaper.
Related tips
- Connectors before the browser: One task got about 45x cheaper by switching to a connector.
- Let your Bot ask for the access it needs: Describe the job first. The Bot tells you which tool to connect and walks you through it.
- A safety baseline before sharing logins: All your Bots share one computer, so every Bot can use each login.
- Triage and reply to email from the chat: Ask for a brief of emails that need replies, then answer them in one line each.
- Turn YouTube videos into Notion notes: Give it a link; it saves quotes, ideas, trends and questions to Notion.
- Connect Clay and build sales workflows from one sentence: With the Clay plugin, your Bot searches, enriches and researches companies and contacts in Clay, then finishes the steps Clay can't do alone.
