How this helps you
More web tasks finish without you taking over.
Try [task on website] again now that my traffic routes through my computer. If the site still blocks you, tell me exactly where it stopped.
Fill in: [task on website] is the job that failed, such as checking out on a retailer's site.
What they did
Riley Brown points to a setting at the bottom of Settings, Computer: Network, Route traffic through this computer. Your Bot's computer runs in the cloud, and sites such as big retailers can flag cloud machines as bots, especially further into checkout or on forms. With the setting on, the traffic goes out through your own computer and IP address, so the site sees you. He leaves it on. The changelog added it on 11 Sep 2026 (0.50.0) and later notes that Settings shows how many sites were blocked because they resolve to a private or VPN address, and that a team admin can turn it off.
Who it's for: Anyone whose Bot gets stuck on captchas, checkouts or forms.
Before you start
- The Grok Bot desktop app on your own computer.
How to try it
- Open Settings, then Computer.
- Scroll to Network.
- Turn on Route traffic through this computer.
- Retry the task that was being blocked.
- Keep the app running on that computer while the Bot works (we haven't verified this step).
What to expect
Fewer bot checks and blocks on shopping and form sites. Settings shows a count of sites blocked for resolving to private or VPN addresses.
Common mistakes
- Expecting it to work on a team account where the admin has turned it off. Settings, Computer says so.
- Forgetting that the traffic now uses your home or office connection.

- Research to purchase, with your approval: It researched pet insurance, compared quotes and paid with Link only after the user said buy.
- Open your Bot's screen to watch or help: Each Bot works on a real desktop you can open, watch, sign in on, and take over.
- Connectors before the browser: One task got about 45x cheaper by switching to a connector.
- A printed daily brief from your home printer: A Daily Brief Bot pulls your calendar, bookmarks and workouts from your other Bots, lays them out on one page and prints it at 6:45 AM through a computer on your home network.
