How this helps you
The comparison work is done for you, and the purchase still waits for your approval.
Get quotes for [product] with these details: [details]. Compare them in a table: price, cover limits, excess, waiting periods, main exclusions and a link to each policy page. Recommend one with reasons. Don't start checkout until I say buy, and show me the purchase card before you pay.
Fill in: [product]: e.g. pet insurance. [details]: the facts a quote form needs.
What they did
@MarsHomestead had Grok Bot handle pet insurance end to end: it did the research, filled in the forms, gathered quotes, compared scenarios and picked a policy. After the user said 'let's buy it', the Bot paid with Link using the connected X Money card. Since then the official changelog has added purchase features: a Vault Payments tab where you pick the payment method Bots use first (0.77.0), product cards with Buy now that starts an order you approve, order tracking and Shop Pay (0.78.x), and the Bot cites only protections it has read and doesn't promise refunds when asked what happens if an order goes wrong.
Who it's for: Anyone comparing quotes for insurance or similar products.
How to try it
- Give the Bot the facts it needs (for example pet age, breed and postcode).
- Ask it to collect quotes and compare them in a table with the same coverage fields for each.
- Ask for a recommendation with reasons and the exclusions it found, linking each policy page.
- Decide how it may pay: pick a method in Settings, Vault, Payments, or don't save a card if you want to enter it each time.
- Say buy only when you've read the summary, then approve the purchase card.
- Ask it to save the confirmation and policy documents and remind you before renewal.
What to expect
A comparison table with links, a recommendation, then a purchase card you approve.
Common mistakes
- Saving a card when you want to approve every payment. The help page says a saved card can fill at checkout without asking each time.
- Trusting the Bot's summary of cover without opening the policy wording.
- Expecting refund promises. The Bot cites only protections it has read.
Related tips
- Vault: logins, cards and contact info: Your Bot never sees saved passwords or card numbers. One catch with saved cards.
- Use your 1Password with Grok Bot: Connect 1Password, approve each login in the 1Password app, and it fills the sign-in without the Bot seeing the password.
- A safety baseline before sharing logins: All your Bots share one computer, so every Bot can use each login.
- Open your Bot's screen to watch or help: Each Bot works on a real desktop you can open, watch, sign in on, and take over.
- How the team uses its own Bot on support: It spots incidents and answers related tickets; a human approves the batch.
- A household shopping manager that builds your weekly cart: A year of orders became a Notion catalog. Every Sunday the cart is built and the human checks out.
- Route your Bot's web traffic through your computer: Turn on one setting so websites see your connection instead of a cloud machine, which gets blocked less often.
- Chain a whole errand into one prompt: Hand over every step of a job in one message, including the follow-up rule, and let the Bot ask your other Bots for what it needs.
- A price watch Bot that only pings you for a real, verified drop: Give a Bot one exact product and two shops. It checks every morning, treats anything it can't read as unknown, and stays quiet unless it confirms a lower price.
- Let your Bot cancel free trials and unused subscriptions: Three built-in templates from 0.78: start a trial and cancel it before it bills, cancel plans you don't use, and watch renewal prices.
Worth knowingTwo official sources differ on saved cards: the 0.77.0 changelog says you still approve every purchase, while the Vault help page says there is no setting that requires approval each time a saved card is used. To be sure you approve each payment, don't save the card. Link one-time cards are offered only in the US and Canada.
